Compton Halloween Map: About Us

Hi, my name is Tia. I live in Compton with my awesome hubby and kids, and I run a tiny horror-themed business called Halloween 4ever. I'm the neighbor who starts decorating for Halloween in August. 🎃

I started the Halloween community map in Compton in 2023 after noticing that fewer families were trick-or-treating in our city, and fewer houses were giving out candy. We usually took our kids outside the city to trick-or-treat. But one year I decided to stay home and give out candy.

We got exactly 2 ✌🏽trick-or-treaters 😭.

In 2023, I got the idea to create a map for Compton that showed all the homes and families with Halloween spirit and plenty of candy. We had 64 homes on the map. In year two, participation more than doubled to 144 homes, and more families came out to enjoy Halloween together. Now, in our third year, the map continues to grow and bring neighbors together in a safe and fun way. I have awesome neighbors in Compton who have helped grow the Halloween community map into what it is and is becoming.

The goal has always been simple: to help families celebrate Halloween here in Compton and build community spirit right on our own streets.
